Jujutsu Kaisen Fans are Admiring Over Toji Fushiguro, Here's Why:

by: Mireille Joy Dayandayan

Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular anime and manga series that many fans across the globe are obsessed with. It is written by Gege Akutami and animated by Studio Mappa and has published over 55 million copies around the world. For manga readers, like myself, we have encountered new characters that the anime series has not tackled yet. However, for some reason, non-manga readers are already familiarized with a character that the anime series has not shown yet. This character is named as Toji Fushiguro, and fans love him despite being one of the antagonists.

Toji Fushiguro is the main antagonist of the ‘Gojo’s Past Arc’. Despite being a non-curse user, he is a famous assassin and known as the Sorcerer Killer. His nefarious deeds stem from his dissatisfaction with the jujutsu world, which he is attempting to spite. Toji, who was born without the cursed energy, later left the Zenin family and married a woman named "Fushiguro." He sold their son to the Zenin family because he believed in little Megumi's ability to be a true sorcerer, and he named him "Megumi" after the Japanese word for blessings.

A sexually attractive man in his 30’s, Toji is a tall man with a masculine physique and black hair that reaches his ears in a mid-length straight style. He possesses his son's green eyes, thin black brows, and a prominent scar on the right side of his mouth, right on the border of his lips. When he was still a Zenin family member, he wore a dark colored haori, which he never really worn properly thus showing his chest, over a black yukata. Toji is dressed casually in a long-sleeved shirt and matching jeans, which he wears with footwear. Toji battles in a black martial arts slipper and a tight fitting short sleeve shirt, which makes his pectorals and well-defined abdomen visible . He also wears tan baggy training pants with a black belt weaved through the waist.

Toji is a stoic, placid, and self-assured man who pleasures himself and makes profit with his capabilities. He appears to enjoy intellectual conversation with others as long as it is related to himself.

Toji when he resurrected

killed himself in order to save his son

In a chapter where he somehow met his son since he was ‘resurrected’, Toji opted to return to death by killing himself in order to protect his own son, even though he was already harming him with his explosion of rage. He did so without ever revealing their relationship. Toji instead expresses his delight that Megumi refers to himself as a Fushiguro rather than a Zenin in his concluding words.

Toji was one of the most elite fighters in the jujutsu world when he was alive, despite the fact that he was a non-curse user with no intrinsic skill for jujutsu. Toji competed against the most deadly and highly ranked jujutsu practitioners this era had to offer, with intrinsic physical strength much superior to all others in his path.

Although his role is quite not as heroic as you think, fans, like myself, still admire this Toji Fushiguro due to how well-written his character is and how interesting his story was. Fans also admire how he was drawn, which attracts many fans, especially women, and immense themselves in appreciating this character.
